Equilib protocol and warranty program

The pilot -- " equilib warranty program" is exciting, particularly given the ability to address mood and cognitive disorders. 

This is a monitored nutrient protocol that utilizes a nutrient formulation.

Results utilizing the unbuffered precursor to Equilib, were published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Dec 2001-Effective Mood Stabilization With Chelated Minerals, by Dr Bonnie Kaplan et al. Preliminary autism data was presented by the MIND Institute at the 2006 IMFAR conference in Montreal as a poster, (see included autism and ADHD data sheets). Not all equilib open case study participants with ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Anxiety, Bipolar, or Depression in adults and children, and Premenstrual Dysphoria (PMS) in adults and adolescents have responded. However, a majority of participants compliant with this protocol have seen significant improvements over their previous treatment regimes. In many cases participants have been able to entirely eliminate psychotherapeutic medications under their physician's direction. In others, the best effect has been a combination of reduced medications and our nutriceutical protocol.

Co-morbid somatic issues: Physicians/specialists may only be responsible for individual issues such as mood disorders, IBS, growing pains, asthma, sleep disorders, eczema, or urgent bladder/intersticial cystitis/bed wetting in older children etc. Patients have to live with all their symptoms, whether related to any physician's specialty or not. 

Quality of life matters. Using the co-morbidity checklist, it’s been fascinating to observe the correlation between improving chart scores, and improved somatic symptoms (see somatic warranty list). We realize that documenting the co-occurring response of mood and somatic issues may jeopardize our credibility, but given the serious quality of life issues, we are ethically bound to do so.

Participants fill psychometric evaluation charts in daily for fourteen days prior to starting Equilib, while continuing current treatment modalities -seven days if not medicated, then continue to complete the charts on an ongoing basis as they begin Equilib.  These are submitted weekly to their research assistant/support person along with a brief telephone interview, and entered into a graphing program. With participant's permission, this information along with relevant notes is sent to each of their healthcare professionals, allowing them to closely monitor response and adjust medications as appropriate.

In conclusion; With the ability to offer patients a warranty program, strong recorded anecdotal response to many of the most troubling quality of life somatic issues (also warrantable), and a sophisticated monitoring and support system which costs doctors and patients nothing, it's easy to understand why many physicians are enthusiastic. We can afford to go to this degree of effort, expense and warranty liability since we’re supremely confident in our statistics and observed responses. Bear in mind that our warranty requires a significant improvement over and above that brought about by their current best medical practices or alternative modalities during the baseline period.
